We provide the refreshments, flowers, and assist in set up for this memorable evening for the 8th grade students. Mrs. Bosley and the 8th grade teachers award the students for their accomplishments and prepare a presentation of video memories. It has been customary for the 7th grade parents to volunteer for this event.

This committee will help to prepare for the exciting graduation and ball for our high school seniors. A luncheon is provided for them, along with gifts presented by the PTAO. It has been customary for the 11th grade parents to volunteer for this event.



Advancement Initiative: 
This is our annual commitment to donate $15,000 to Villa Madonna Academy School. This is a 10 year commitment that will be completed in the year 2013. The money is divided into three categories: Endowment Fund, Building Improvements, and VMA Technology Plan. The Benedictine Sisters matched our ten year pledge upfront with a $150,000 donation to Villa Madonna Academy

Box Top Collection:
It is as easy as clip, clip. This committee collects the box tops to turn in for 10 cents each. This may not seem like a lot but we earned $538 last year. The classroom with the most box tops collected at the end of each quarter, receives a treat basket to share: Chairperson Contact: Diane Comp

Community Outreach:
This is a wonderful opportunity to share with those less fortunate. We will spend a day helping the elderly and disabled prepare their homes for the winter months. Families are encourages to participate. Chairperson Contact: Teresa Izquierdo

Craft Fair:
This event takes place in early October. The booths are rented out to community crafters during the day on Saturday. There is also a bake sale of delicious homemade goodies. Chairperson Contact: Jackie Hirt

Cultural Arts:
This committee introduces a variety of cultural experiences to grades K-12. Typical performances involve music, dance, art, theatre, folklore, or storytelling by professional troupes. We collaborate with the principals and teachers so that the performances maximize the material being taught. Each grade receives 2 to 3 cultural art assemblies per year.  These events are sponsored by the Fine Arts Patrons.

Family Nights/Social Events:
This committee plans enriching activities for the students and their families. Ideas are always needed for K-12th grade events that would encourage quality family time for the students and their parents. Past events include:  Bingo Night, Ice Skating, Ski Club, Roller Skating, and Movie Night. Chairperson Contact: Marla Specht

Father/Daughter Dance:
Dads can dance the night away with their K-8th grade daughters. This event is held at Receptions in January. There are two dances, one for K-4th grade and one for 5th-8th grade. Chairperson Contact: (K-4) Donna Damon (5-8) Pam Ransdell

First Communion:
This special day for the 2nd graders is celebrated with a reception where we provide a cake and punch.

Funfest:
This exciting back to school event takes place in September. The evening is packed full of games, food, and fun for the students and their families.  This event is a wonderful opportunity to meet and socialize with Villa families and friends! Chairperson Contact: Kristi Pickens

Flower Fair:
Flower fair  provides mums in October, poinsettias in December, and lilies for Easter, and spring plants in April. The goal is provide a beautiful selection of flowers for our parents and community. It is an opportunity for PTAO to take advantage of the seasonal demand for flowers and benefit from the sale. The vendor delivers the order but sorting and help with pick up is needed. Gift Wrap:
This committee promotes and manages the Innisbrook Gift Wrap sale as the PTAO largest fundraiser of the year which occurs at the start of the school year.  Innisbrook provides quality gift wrap at a reasonable cost. Students are encouraged to participate in this event. This committee helps to raise approximately $21,000 for PTAO. Chairperson Contact: Pam Ransdell

Hospitality:
This committee organizes refreshments to be brought in for PTAO meetings, first day of school coffee house, high school admission testing, Grandparents' Day, and various activities throughout the school year. Chairperson Contact: Maria Martini

Jingle Bell Shop:
An opportunity for the students to shop for their family and friends for a very reasonable cost. The shop is set up Monday through Thursday for a week in early December and every elementary class will have an assigned time to visit. Parents are needed to assist in set up and sales. Market Day:
This is a monthly opportunity to order quality food at a great price. The profits of $300-$400 per month go to the PTAO’s budget. Parents are needed on delivery night to sort the food orders. Chairperson Contact: Diane Comp

Mother/Son Activity:
This event was new in 2006. It was an adventurous afternoon of bowling and lunch. What a great time for the boys and their moms!  Chairperson Contact: Dina Gibson

Parent Prom:
This is an opportunity for parents to spend a delightful evening with their high school students. Enjoy hours of dancing with your son/daughter. Held at Receptions in October. Chairperson Contact: Julie McGehee

Santa's Breakfast:
Students in K-3 and their families are invited to enjoy breakfast with Santa. Children will have the opportunity to make several Christmas crafts and have their picture taken with Santa Claus. Chairperson Contact: Kris Roach

School Supply Store:
An opportunity for your child to conveniently purchase their school supplies at lunchtime. There are imprinted VMA items available also.  Parents set up in the lunchroom hallway on Wednesdays from 10:40am-11:55am. Chairperson Contact: Angie Wagner

Staff Appreciation:
This committee has the wonderful opportunity to help "spoil" our teachers, faculty, and staff. The activities include:  monthly desserts and goodies, teacher appreciation week, Christmas gifts, and a year end luncheon. Chairperson Contact: Becky Motley

Uniform Exchange:
The used uniform exchange enables parents to sell uniforms and spirit wear no longer need (their children have out grown it). It also enables parents to purchase uniform items at substantially reduced prices. Parents set pricing for their items that they wish to sell. Items can also be donated to the exchange with the proceeds going to the PTAO.  Chairperson Contact: Karen Paxton

Wish List:

It is our privilege as parent volunteers to assist our teachers with a wish list generated by the administration each school year. We will work to make all of these wishes come true!
