Proposed Amendments
 
Current Bylaw:                                  
ARTICLE IV – OFFICERS
Section 2          Terms:  The chair and chair-elect shall serve a one-year term. The secretary and treasurer shall serve a two-year term but are eligible for re-election for one additional term. An officer may be elected for an additional term but only after a one-year absence from any position on the Executive Committee of the organization. Program Committee Chair shall serve a one-year term. Program/Event Coordinators shall serve a two-year term but are eligible for re-election for one additional term.

ARTICLE V – COMMITTEES
Section 2          Executive Committee: The four officers and the Program Committee Chair shall serve as the members of the Executive Committee. The President of VMA, the Elementary School Principal, and the High School Principal shall serve as members of the Executive Committee. Except for the power to amend the bylaws, the Executive Committee shall have all the powers and authority of the organization in the intervals between meetings of the organization.

Section 5          Program Committee: The Program Committee Chair shall oversee all programs and events. The chair shall work with a co-chair of the Program Committee to recruit program/event coordinators from the elementary, middle and high school membership for all of the various programs and events of the PTAO. The Program Committee Chair shall assist in developing the fund raising plan and the development of each program/event budget.

Proposed Amendments: 
ARTICLE V – COMMITTEES
Section 5          Program Committee: The Program Committee Chair shall oversee all programs and events. The chair shall work with a co-chair of the Program Committee to recruit program/event coordinators from the elementary, middle and high school membership for all of the various programs and events of the PTAO. The Program Committee Chair shall assist in developing the fund raising plan and the development of each program/event budget.
                        Section 5 of Article V shall be eliminated from the bylaws.
