One of the fastest growing areas of technology today is in the area of video production and editing.  Video editing is the process of re-arranging video to form another segment of video. The goals of video editing are to remove unwanted footage, retain desired footage, and arrange footage in a synthesized manner.

During the 2007 - 2008 school year, Villa Madonna Academy implemented these technologies to enhance our current curriculum offerings and to establish a new technological baseline which includes video editing and production capabilities.

We identified opportunities in our High School Web Programming and Yearbook/Journalism classes and our Eighth Grade Computer class curriculum to expand our lesson plans to include digital filming, digital editing, video production and video display.

With these new possibilities, we have enhanced our technology teaching programs, introduced new methods to communicate and begun the first stages of student-driven video productions.
