Villa Madonna Academy alumna, Margaret Hay Edwards M.D. ‘30, left a generous gift to VMA from her estate when she passed away. Margaret attended Villa at the age of 13 and graduated from Villa at the age of 16. She received her medical degree from Temple University and lived a lifetime of service to others. Through the establishment of the Margaret Hay Edwards Scholarship, Margaret continues to share with the Villa community her legacy – a life well and fully lived.
Award Criteria:
- Must be a 6th, 7th or 8th grader at VMA
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Displays personal characteristics with an emphasis on outstanding accomplishments
- Involved in service work
Application Requirements:
- Application must be submitted by April 30th of each year and include:
- A Villa Madonna Academy Scholarship Application Form
- A letter written by the student and a letter written by an adult explaining
why the student should receive the scholarship addressing the criteria listed above
- A recommendation letter from the student’s teacher
