2007 - 2008 Future Problem Solving
Future Problem Solving is an Academic Team. Each year, FPS members do research on three topics
specified by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition.
At District, Regional, and State Governor's Cup competitions, teams are presented with a problem dealing with one aspect of the selected topic. The teams compete to develop effective and creative solutions.

At the Northern Kentucky Future Problem Solving Tournament on January 5, 2007
L to R: Josh Goderwis, Chelsea Case, Kacy Corbit, Kelsey Bosley, Olivia Keller,
Nathan Goderwis, John Notorgiacomo, Gavin Wichmann, Conrad Kresge.
Each school may send only one team to District Competition, and progression to Regional and State levels is dependent upon success at the District level.
A competition team may be comprised of only four students. Thus, students selected for the competition team are usually the most skilled and most experienced students on the team.
All are welcome to join Villa’s FPS team to participate in research and practice sessions. The team practices each Thursday from 3 to 4 PM in the VMA library. Practices will continue until the end of Governor’s Cup competition.
Villa’s high school Future Problem Solving Team is coached by Debbie Young, VMA HS Librarian,
