AP Biology:

The course is a college level biology course for majors. It meets the criteria for Advanced Placement Biology and exceeds it in laboratory content. The course meets five hours a week plus an additional three hours after school for the laboratory. Topics include molecular and cellular biology, genetics, evolution, and systems of living organisms, behavior, populations, and ecology. Themes of unity in diversity, relationship of form and function, interdependence, continuity and change, regulation, energy flow and the role of scientific investigation flow through the presentations and investigations.

Course Prerequisites:

- A in general biology

- Willingness to read high level texts and articles

- Willingness to attend after school labs every couple of weeks on Mondays

- Willingness to work hard

- Recommendation of biology teacher
