The VMA technology curriculum prepares students to use a variety of technology tools and applications. Villa Madonna believes that mastery of these skills is essential to meet the demands of today’s college learning environments and the working world of the 21st century.
Technology
Students learn how to develop and publish Web Sites using HTML and Microsoft's Active Server Pages technologies. Students who are interested in pursuing Computer Science career paths are offered the opportunity to take an Advanced Placement Computer Science course. Students interested in the maintenance and repair of computers are offered the opportunity to participate in an independent study program to assist with the maintenance and up-keep of the school's computers.
Business
The business curriculum prepares students for entrance into today's business world through instruction in basic accounting principles and economic theory. Students are offered the opportunity to take a class focused on Business Accounting Principles, Theory and Practice. Following the study of Accounting, students learn economic theory through an Advanced Placement Microeconomics course. New in the 2008 -2009 school year, we are offering a course in Public Speaking and Desktop Publishing. This course refines students oral and written presentation skills and introduces the student to a variety of desktop publishing software packages.
