Villa Madonna Academy High School is a service learning school. Service learning intrinsically supports and enhances the mission of our school. Our teachers integrate service learning into the core curriculum.
VMA students perticipated in the annual Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) event on April 17, 2010 that occurred at the Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati. Area college, high school, elementary, youth groups, young adults, and some participants outside the tri-state area presented their service endeavors and ideas and also gained valuable insight from other participants on how to make service learning a major part of their life. For example, the slideshow contains Butterflies (Night) and Cranes (Hiroshima) made by our freshmen and sophomore students. The butterflies are for the Butterfly Project. The cranes are for the 1000 Cranes project.
