ANNOUNCEMENTS: Thursday, May 1, 2008 Today begins the month of May, and we focus on doing our personal best these last weeks of school. How you study and focus at the end of the school year is so important as it is a testament to your commitment and your work ethic. Remember to be people who live the Benedictine values of respect and hospitality, and remember our commitment to Peace in all we do. Please keep in your prayers our military men and women and pray for their quick and safe return from Iraq and Afghanistan. We thank Mrs. Becky Motley and PTAO for the wonderful activities they have planned for VMA Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week. Today, our faculty and staff will be treated to a special lunch from PTAO. We ask you to please remember to say thank you to the teachers and the staff for all they do to make this a great school. ALL FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES MUST PACK LUNCH TOMORROW. There will be an informal cross country sign up in room 306 during activity period Thursday. This will be an information session and sign up. Everyone is able to join us for another run at the state title. NHS will meet at 2:30 today. This meeting is for juniors only. Current members of SWAC need to meet outside of the theatre today during Activity Period. We will be taking a picture for the yearbook. Our AP exams begin Tuesday. We still need Nick Iott, Mary Kate Gnotek and Ally Landen to complete the identification part of their first answer sheet. You need to take care of this today during Activity Period. Most of the AP exams will be in 313, so most of Ms. O’Connell’s classes will be in other classrooms on those exam days. We will post a schedule of these changes, and we ask for your cooperation with these changes. The AP exams provide the opportunity for students to test out of college classes based on the classes they have taken here at Villa. Students are paying extra to take these exams in the hope of getting college credits and shortening the time spent in college. We expect you to respect these students while they are taking the exams by being considerate during class exchanges and by keeping the noise down outside 313 and on Tuesday outside the language lab where they will be taking the Spanish Language. We will have the collection containers outside homeroom doors tomorrow morning. This could be the last collection this year. If anyone has a belated birthday card for Rachael you can bring it to the guidance office. If anyone wants a list of the special opportunities for summer classes and camps for high school students you can find it in the outer guidance office on the table. Help yourself. On June 1, the Life Coalition 2008 will present the third annual Cross the Bridge for Life on the Cincinnati and Northern Ky. Riverfronts. Many people in our Diocese will be participating. Please see Ms. Lonneman for additional information. Messages: John Notorgiacomo, Emily Schubert
