Foreign Language Showcase  NKU  Saturday March 24 where 9 students will be performing in the core areas of speaking, writing, reading and listening. 5 others will doing recitations, displaying their renditions artwork of of Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet and VanGogh. New to our projects is a Manga created by two French II students.

French I French Culture: Project  4th quarter 

1.     Choose a province or region of France or a Francophone country and research the spécialités. Describe the dish, how to make it and what part of the meal it is served.  Is this an everyday item or one for specific occasions?  (Remember to document your sources.)  Due April 27

 

 

2.     Try your hand at French cuisine Due May 11

·        Find a French recipe and copy it.  (You may want to try one from the Food binder on the bookcase—they are tried and work!)

·        Read it carefully and decide if you can make it. (Look at how many it serves.  If your family is just four you make want to half a recipe that feeds 8.)

·        Make it at home and have a parent validate your experience by filling out the form below. 

·        Take a photo of it…It may be on your phone or you may show me on your digital camera.

·        Extra credit if you do more than one recipe!

 

 
 
 
French II  French Culture Project:   4th quarter
 
1. Due April 3, 2012 Research a famous French artist of your choice– (Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet are some good choices) or a French composer or singer (Berlioz, Debussy, Ravel… or one of your choosing) or a French designer (Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, etc) or a French auto maker (Renault, Peugeot-Citroen, Smart, etc)    
  • at least 2 sources documented MLA style)
  • No more than 2 typed pages on his life
  • At least 1-2 pages on his works, his artistic style and contributions to the world of art
  • Total of 4 pages of text plus some pictures
  • Include several of his pictures or some of his music or some of their designer clothes.
 
2nd Option—do the project in powerpoint , last screen will have the works cited.
 
3rd Option--- do the Manga booklet for Foreign Language Showcase Sat March 24
·         Need pages completed for duplication no later than Tues. March 20

French I and II
1.     Introduce me to your aunt. Tell me about her –physical description, her personality, what she likes to do.
2.     Tell me about yourself… as though you were going to spend a semester as an exchange student. What would I need to know about you?
3.     List 10 items your family typically buys at the grocery.
4.     List items you needed to buy for Christmas gifts.
5.     Order items for meal at a fancy restaurant.
