Second Quarter will be devoted to three main areas: Reading the powerful Holocaust book Night  and discussing themes of tolerance with students. They will be called upon to write an essay on tolerance, inspired by their reading.

We also will be incorporating a service learning project that will draw from the book and incorporate some artistic/creative talents of the students... More information to come...

Vocabulary continues to be an area of concentration. WithNight, students are encouraged to read with a dictionary beside them and to look up any word they don't know or understand.  That means ANY word from the text is fair-game for a vocabulary test.

Finally, we will continue to work on the five-paragraph persuasive essay and strategies for success.
