Kindergarten mathematics presents topics fundamental to mathematical literacy and mathematical power for primary level students. An integral part of the learning process is the acquirement of tools necessary to build a firm foundation from which students will draw upon in future grade levels. These early concepts and procedures will enable students to develop proficiency with more advance concepts. Problem solving, mathematical communication, and mathematical reasoning extend students’ learning.

Kindergarten language arts implements the national reading and writing standards within the context of Kentucky and Diocesan reading criteria. The basis for this curriculum is emergent reading skills, vocabulary, comprehension, literary concepts, literary appreciation, oral communication, and writing mechanics.
