                                                   May, 2012

It is hard to believe that we are in our final weeks of school! May looks to be very busy!
We have a lot of fun projects planned and a lot of creative writing to publish!

Field TripFriday, May 11th  - 4th and 5th grade are going to the Appalachian Festival at Old Coney. The cost is $2.00. Permission slips went home on Thursday and are due back to school by Monday. Gentle reminder: All chaperones need to be current with their Virtus training.

Writing Workshop – Fairy Tales - This writing project requires the children to choose
a Fairy Tale, read the Fairy Tale, and then create a new setting/characters. I have already seen some great stories evolve.

Game Board – (Literature Groups ) Each Literature Circle is responsible for creating a GAME BOARD to reflect the American Revolution novel they are reading. MOST of the game will be made in class. Most materials for the game boards will be made or supplied from home. Criteria and grading rubric will be sent home this week.
