Dear Parents,

          Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in his/her school career. First Grade is an exciting year as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as the acquisition of new skills is accelerated. You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year in First Grade at Villa Madonna Academy.

         We hope to make this first grade year a fun and exciting one. We hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's schooling.

           First Graders, as all students, need lots of praise and encouragement to feel and be successful. Each first grade classroom is a group of students with a wide range of abilities, ages and backgrounds. (Students come from different schools.) This can be a stressful change for some students BUT the majority of students seem to be quite comfortable in their new environment.

           In the tradition of the Benedictine Values, we believe in creating an environment that is positive, safe, creative and fun. Children learn in a variety of ways so we provide a wide range of activities and opportunities to ensure all students are learning.

           We know that parents are an important and essential part of the education process and we value your time, support, help and communication.

           We are looking forward to an exciting year in First Grade Year at Villa Madonna Academy.
