2006-2007
The team had a wonderful season and finished the year with 10 Wins, 5 Losses and 1 Tie.
The overall record includes the first round loss in the District Tournament.
Highlight of our season was returning to Louisville and defending our Louisville Collegiate Invitational Tournament Championship.
Rain played a major role in the season as several games had to be rescheduled and a couple was cancelled due to unplayable field conditions and availability of officials.
The team pushed forward, even with the inclement weather, and scored sixty (60) goals and gave up thirty-one (31) goals.
Five (5) seniors will be graduating this Spring, but, the team has eighteen (18) players returning.
Depending on the next incoming class of freshmen, we could have as many as eight (8) to ten (10) new players for next season.
The future of the Ladies Soccer Program appears to be very bright for next season at VMA.
2005-2006
Congratulations to Sophomore Taylor Stoll who was named Player of the Year for the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference (NKAC) Division III Girl's Soccer. The Athletic Department will receive a plaque with Taylor's name and this will be hung in the Room of Champions in the gym along with all our other Player's of the Year for Various Varsity Sports!
End of the Year Review 2005
What a fantastic season our Girls Varsity Soccer team accomplished this year. The final overall record for the season was 11 wins, 7 losses and 0 ties. Last year, VMA played a Junior Varsity schedule and stepping up to play a Varsity schedule this year was a major accomplishment. The team finished the season with a thrilling and emotional overtime loss to Dixie in the District Tournament by a score of 3 – 2 and this game was another one of those games that could have gone our way.
It is always sad to say goodbye to our two Seniors: Krista Slaughter and Sydney Stoll. These young ladies provided leadership and a sense of humor to our young team and they will be missed. VMA has a wonderful nucleus of players returning for next season lead by our five Juniors: Rachael Berberich, Lauren Gerst, Brenna Keller, Sarah Pugh, and Lauren Webster; two Sophmores: Emily Greenwood and Taylor Stoll; seven Freshmen: Rachel Brannen, Sarah Klare, Kelsey Kloentrup, Michelle Lonnemann, Sarah Miller, Lindsey Samotis and Evin Slusher; four Eighth graders: Emily Hurtt, Olivia Keller, Taylor Poe and Emily Sarros; and one Seventh grader: Alexis Simpson.
One positive note to end our review is that Taylor Stoll earned Honorable Mention for the Region.
VMA can and should be extremely proud of these young ladies and the future certainly looks bright for our Girls Soccer team at VMA.
