Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year! The year is sure to be filled with many great memories both in and out of the classroom.
Through various fundraisers, and in cooperation with the Athletic Department, funds raised by the VMA Booster organization directly support the athletic activities of all VMA students, grades 1-12.
Our first fundraiser of the year is the 19th annual VMA/Denny VanHouten Golf Outing, scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, September 13th at Boone Links. Plan to play in the outing, become a hole or event sponsor, and/or volunteer to help. All participants had a great time last year! Don’t miss this event; it is an easy way to get to know other VMA parents, alums and supporters.
In January, our annual Shoot-A-Thon will be held in our gym. It has become a very successful event involving all children in grades 1-12.
The Booster organization will again operate the concession stand at all volleyball and basketball games this year. It takes many volunteers to provide concessions at these events; consider giving a few hours of your time to make this effort successful. As always, you must be Virtus trained in order to work.
Finally, the Boosters meet every 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the gym conference room. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. School announcements will include a reminder a few days prior to each meeting.
