Officers and Fundraiser chairs: Interest in officer positions for 2012-2013 was discussed. A final slate of officers was not solidified, though key volunteers include: the Spritskys for treasurer, Teresa Werner for secretary and Janet Baugh for Shoot-a-thon chair. Volunteers for president and vice-president were not identified during the meeting; neither was a golf outing chair.
Golf Outing: As requested, Laszlo Pavel presented a proposal for hosting the golf outing at Summit Country Club. He presented costs, available dates, menu options, along with additional details. Boosters decided to host the outing at Summit Country Club this year on July 30.
Treasurer report: Boosters wrote a check to the athletic director for $19,525. Discretionary funds are $6850, of which approximately $3000 are available for wish list items.
Wish list spending: Mark Atwood presented a list of wish list items compiled from the coaches. Of the items presented, the following were approved for purchase: volleyball flip scoreboard, weighted balls for strength training, tennis court rollers, tennis net, elliptical machine, stationary bike. The estimated total cost is $3100.
Spring Event: The spring trip to Keeneland was cancelled due to schedule complications. However, a fall trip is being considered for a weekend in early October.
Title IX: Mark Atwood led a discussion regarding Title IX. He invited comments regarding any sports gender equity concerns, such as sports availability, budgets, scheduling. No issues or concerns were expressed.
High School Sports Banquet: This will be held Sunday, May 20 at Summit Hills Country Club. All who played high school sports are invited.
Summer programs: They are shaping up. Programs targeted for elementary aged participants include basketball, volleyball. A tennis camp will also be held.
