Dear Villa Parents,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! This year is sure to be filled with many great moments and memories in both the classroom and at VMA athletic events.
Through various fundraisers throughout the year and in association with the Villa Athletic Department, the VMA Booster organization is able to raise funds that directly support the athletic activities of all VMA students, grades 1 -12.
Our first fund raiser for the year will be the 20th annual VMA Denny Van Houten Golf Outing, scheduled for 2PM Sunday, September 11th at Boone Links. Please plan to play in the outing, or consider becoming an event or hole sponsor. This is a great opportunity for new parents of Villa students to meet other parents, alums, and faculty members. All that participated last year had a great time golfing and at the dinner afterwards. It should be another great outing so please don’t miss this event. Get a foursome together and join the fun!
In January, our annual Shoot-A-Thon will be held in our gym. This event has become a very successful event involving all children in the school grades 1-12. This event and the annual golf outing allow the VMA Boosters to make a significant contribution each year to the athletics operating budget for the entire school.
The VMA Booster organization will again operate the concession stand at all volleyball and basketball games this year. It takes many dedicated volunteers to provide concessions at these events, please consider volunteering a few hours of your time during the season to work at the concession stand to make this effort successful. All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained in order to work.
Finally, the VMA Boosters meet every 3rd Wednesday at 7PM for our monthly meeting. Please see the school announcements a few days prior to each meeting for a reminder about the meeting and the location each month. Everyone is welcome and parents of all grade levels are encouraged to attend.
