Advancement Initiative: This is the PTAO annual commitment to donate $15,000 to Villa Madonna Academy. This is a 10 year commitment that will be completed in the year 2013. The money is divided into three categories: Endowment Fund, Building Improvements, and VMA Technology Plan. The Benedictine Sisters match our ten year pledge upfront with a $150,000 donation to Villa Madonna Academy. Contact: Jane Schwarting, 859-291-9961 or  

After Prom:  A chaperoned, alcohol- and drug-free alternative to typical prom night activities.  A location is chosen to provide a night of games and activities, food, and great prizes! Box Top and Soup Label Collection:  Committee collects General Mills Box Tops for Education. The classroom with the most Box Tops collected at the end of each quarter receives a treat basket to share.  Contact: Becky Motley, 859-578-0640, or  

Community Outreach: This is a wonderful opportunity for Villa families to give back to the community and for students to earn service hours. We spend an November Saturday helping the elderly and disabled prepare their homes for the winter months. Craft Fair:  Booths are rented out to community crafters on a Saturday in October each year. There is also a bake sale of delicious homemade goodies!  Contact: Tonya Regensburger, 859-331-1255 or  

Cultural Arts:   Coordinator works with the Fine Arts Patrons and administration to provide a variety of cultural experiences to grades K-12. Elementary Graduation:  Reception is hosted following 8th grade graduation for students, staff, family and friends. It is customary for the 7th grade parents to volunteer for this event. Graduation is scheduled for May 18, 2012. Contact: Andrea Weickgenannt, 859-578-9469 or  

Family Nights/Social Events:  This committee plans fun activities for the students and their families to foster community. Ideas are always needed for K-12th grade events that would encourage quality family time for the students and their parents. Past events include:  Bingo Night, Ice Skating, Roller Skating, and Movie Night. CHAIR POSITION OPEN

Father/Daughter Event: A special evening for Villa’s K-8th grade girls and their fathers. There are two events, one for K-4th grade (January 13, 2012) and one for 5th-8th grade (January 20, 2012). Contact: Dina Gledhill, 859-586-8301 or  

First Communion:  Committee works with teachers and administration to host a reception on May 8, 2012 for the 2nd graders. Contact: Karen Poole, 859-801-3693 or  

Family Fun Fest:  This exciting back to school event takes place September 16, 2011. The evening is packed full of games, food, and fun for the students and their families.  Contact: Mark & Theresa Schenthall, 859-363-3435 or  

Grade Level Representative: Each grade has one PTAO representative parent who is willing to be the liaison between the PTAO and the parents of that grade. Rep stays informed by attending regular PTAO monthly meetings. Rep is responsible for communicating, informing and engaging parents to participate in PTAO events and programs.

High School Graduation:  Committee works with administration to provide memorable events including a luncheon, ball and gift for the students. It is customary for the 11th grade parents to volunteer for this event.  Graduation for the 2011-12 school year is scheduled for May 25, 2012. Contact: Angie Wagner, 859-344-0183 or  

Hospitality: Committee organizes refreshments to be brought in for PTAO meetings, first day of school coffee house, high school admission testing, Grandparents' Day, and various activities throughout the school year. Contact: Laura Lusk, 859-525-9979 or  and Karen Poole, 859-801-3693 or  

Jingle Bell Shop: An opportunity for the students to shop for their family and friends at a very reasonable cost. The shop will be open December 5 through 9, 2011. Every elementary class will have an assigned time to visit during the school days. Contact: Julie Fortner, 859-331-0112 or     

Kindergarten Celebration: Coordinate with the Kindergarten teachers to provide refreshments for this memorable event. Generally chaired by 1st grade parents.  Celebration will be scheduled for May 23, 2012.   Contact: Tracy McDonald, 895-918-5255 or  

Mother/Son Activity:  A special event for Villa’s male students and their mothers.  Generally held in March or April. Contact: Paula Hein, 859-331-7477 or 859-496-1536 or  

Parent Prom:  An opportunity for parents to spend a fun evening with their high school students. Enjoy hours of dancing with your son/daughter.  This event is held on Sunday in mid-October 23, 2011. Contact: Julie Kunkler, 859-344-9029 or  

Santa's Breakfast:  Students in K-3 and their families are invited to enjoy breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 3, 2011. School Supply Store:  An opportunity for your child to conveniently purchase their school supplies at lunchtime.  Cart is set up in the lunchroom hallway on Wednesday.

Staff Appreciation:  Committee has fun “spoiling" our teachers, staff and administers in creative ways.  Previous activities include:  monthly desserts and goodies, teacher appreciation week, Christmas gifts, and a year end luncheon. Contact: Margaret Minzner, 513-502-3763 or   

Uniform Exchange:  Used uniform exchange enables parents to sell uniforms and spirit wear that are no longer needed. Parents set pricing for their items that they wish to sell. Items can also be donated to the exchange with the proceeds going towards PTAO.   Contact: Kristi Pickens, 859-991-3242 or   

Wish List:  It is our privilege as parent volunteers to assist our teachers in obtaining items from a wish list generated by the administration each school year.
