Class News for April 2007

1940s

Patricia Nolan Gottlieb '42 suggests that their class gather at the May Brunch and Mass to celebrate their 65th anniversary of graduation.

1950's

Peggy Fusner Keesee's '50 daughter, Sandi, will be deployed to Baghdad, Iraq on May 12, for a 6-month tour. Peggy asks for prayers for her daughter's safe return.

Heather Sheehan O'Brien '56 thanks the Alumni Association for the May Luncheon last year that honored the class of '56. It was wonderful to be with so many old friends and to see the great advances in education at the Villa.

As part of the planning team for the reunion last May, Phyllis Hackman Noll '56, thanks all who attended and shared so many memories.

Joan Higdon Hegge '57 reports that members of her class are having a great time planning their 50th reunion for the weekend of May 19-20. The will have a luncheon on Saturday, a dinner Saturday night and will gather for the Mass and Brunch at Villa on Sunday, May 20. They hope to see many of their classmates then.

Ruth Seligman Doering '58 is now a grandmother to her first grandchild, Kate Schirmer, born on November 12, 2006.

1960s

Mary Alexander Huhn '65 is now a grandmother to Solana Underwood, the first daughter of Susan Huhn Underwood, '91. Solana was born on February 2, 2007.

Mary Margaret Heile Cole '57 reports that life is good for the Cole family. Jennie Cole '97 continues to work as an archivist at Princeton University. Katie will graduate from XU in may with a degree in English and Secondary Education.

Jill Hoefker '68 and her husband, Mike Henry, have been in the catering business (Auntie Mom's) for the past 13 years. Jill's daughter, Lindsey Bezold got married on March 24, 2007, and her son, Jeffery Bezold will be married on June 9, 2007.

 

1970s

Amy Therese Mistler '72 has two sons. The older one is a CPA with Price Waterhouse Cooper in Chicago and the younger is a senior at UK in Lexington.

Karen Kavanagh Pastura '72 has become a grandmother for the first time. Christian Joseph Pastura, Jr. was born on January 22, 2007 to Karen's son Christian and his wife Amy. As Karen says, "this is fun!"

Cathy Leonhard Gellert '79 has "retired" from work to chase after her daughter, Emily. Cathy volunteers at the local art museum and she and her husband enjoy having family and friends visit in Los Angeles.

 

1980s

Patty Callahan Schneider '83 asks her classmates to save August 4 for their class reunion. Invitations and details will be mailed this summer. [We hope that many members of the class of 1982 will also be at the May Brunch and Mass on May 20.]

Laura Hunt Greene '87 and her husband are please to announce their adoption of their son, Elijah, in December, 2006. He joinds Katie, age 7, and Abby, age 5.

Tracey Vieth Reid '88, her husband Anthony, and children, Caroline (3) and Liam (10 months) are in the process of moving back to nothern Kentucky. They are thrilled to be coming home!

 

1990s

Jennifer Raker Martin '90 is still workig for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. Her family is getting ready to welcom Baby Martin #3 in April, 2007.

Susan Huhn Underwood '91 gave birth to her first child, Solana Underwood, on February 2, 2007.

Stephanie Rechtin '96 completed Certification in Nonprofit Management at NKU in December 2006.

Jenny Engel Dixon '97 wants everyone to know that her daughter, Brooklynn, was born on January 15, 2006.

 

2000s

Alyse Bender '04 has been elected Student Body President at Northern Kentucky University. She succeeds Josh Ruth '03 in this position. Congratulations to both of them on these leadership positions.

Mary Jane Herrmann, mother of Mary Lee Herrmann Tabeling ’67, Linda Herrmann Simpson ’69, Gayle Herrmann Hoppenjans ’70, Lois Herrmann Jacob ’71 and Jan Herrmann ’75 and passed away on March 31, 2007.
