Villa Delegation Fares Well at U C Conference

 At the University of Cincinnati...

Ten students from Villa Madonna Academy represented Malaysia in a simulated APEC Conference at the University of Cincinnati on March 12, earning 2nd Place as Overall Best Economy

Villa’s Trade Committee placed 1st, and Villa’s Security Affairs, Social Affairs and Science & Technology committees all achieved 2nd Place. Northern Kentucky Foreign Language Festival Results

Congratulations to Villa Madonna students who earned recognition at the Northern Kentucky Foreign Language Festival, March 19 at Northern Kentucky University.

LATIN AWARDS -  Villa students were awarded the Latin trophy for 3rd place over-all

Villa JETS Team Earns 3rd Place at University of Cincinnati

Villa Madonna Academy’s first ever JETS Team (Junior Engineering Technical Society) earned 3rd Place in competition for Regional Division II, grades 11/12 at the University of Cincinnati on March 2.  Over 500 students, comprising 61 teams, participated. L to R: Candice Cheng, Jenny Jiang, Bahar Pahlevani, Lauren Wagner, Meggie Lund, Matt Stapleton, Randy Lund, Glenn Rice.  The Villa team was coached by Doug Lund and moderated by Sr. Mary Rabe. Thanks also to freshman Marcus Schwarting, who served as an alternate for the team.

Four Villa Students Win Scholastic Writing Awards

Sarahmarie  Specht-Bird, Asha Ramesh, Nicholas Boucher, Amanda Werner

Villa Madonna senior Sarahmarie Specht-Bird has been awarded a gold key in the short story category in the Northern Kentucky Scholastic Writing competition, and Villa 8th grader Nicholas Boucher has earned a gold key in persuasive writing.  This is the sixth consecutive year in which Sarahmarie has won gold keys for her writing.  In addition, 8th grader Amanda Werner was named a silver key winner and 7th grader Asha Ramesh earned a Certificate of Merit in the Northern Kentucky competition. Regional winners will be recognized at a ceremony on March 6.   Their work has been forwarded to New York for inclusion in national judging.
