Shelly Rodenkirchen, Villa Madonna Math teacher, was selected by the presidents of Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, and Xavier University to be a recipient of their C3 Outstanding Teacher Award. Only two elementary school, two middle school, and two high school teachers from the Greater Cincinnati area were chosen for this honor. Ms. Rodenkirchen received her award at a dinner at Xavier University on May 9.
Derek Furnish, Villa Madonna Spanish teacher, was selected by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce as one of only six outstanding high school educators from Northern Kentucky. He was honored as a "Golden Apple" recipient during a ceremony at the Drawbridge on May 14.
