Brian Hamilton, a senior at Villa Madonna Academy, learned this week that he has been awarded a National City/KHSAA Sweet 16® Scholarship. Thirty two student athletes, one male and one female from each of Kentucky’s 16 regions, were chosen to receive this $1,000 scholarship. Brian has maintained a 3.96 grade point average at Villa while playing on the school’s varsity basketball, baseball, and golf teams. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and earned a medal in math at District Level Governor’s Cup competition. Hamilton will attend the University of Louisville next year on a full-tuition scholarship, using his Sweet 16® scholarship toward room and board. “I’m really honored,” Brian says, “and I’d like to thank Coach Starkey, Coach Welte, and Coach Van Houten for all their support and encouragement.”

Brian will be recognized along with the other Sweet 16 regional winners during the high school boys basketball championship game at Rupp Arena on March 22nd. He is the son of Phil and Barbara Hamilton, of Villa Hills.
