VMA Madonna Writers Win Honors
The best young writers in Northern Kentucky will be honored at the Scholastic Writing Competition Awards Ceremony on Sunday, March 9 at Northern Kentucky University.
 
Villa Madonna Academy freshman Sarahmarie Specht-Bird was chosen for an American Voices Award and a Gold Key Award for her personal essay, and eighth grader Caroline Hammer was chosen for a Gold Key Award for poetry. These students will have their entries forwarded to New York for judging in the National Scholastic Writing Competition. 
Villa seventh grader Mia Rosado, freshman Hannah Knochelmann, and sophomore Monica Pence earned Silver Key awards for their writing. They submitted entries in the poetry and short story categories.
