Villa Madonna juniors Katherine Hayes, John Meyer, and Renu Ramesh learned this week that they have been selected as Governor’s Scholars. Kentucky’s Governor’s Scholars program selects outstanding high school juniors, and provides five weeks of academic and personal enrichment in a college campus setting during the summer. The program is free of charge.
Katherine, John, and Renu also received notification this week that their PSAT scores have qualified them to participate in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship competition. They are among the highest-scoring of approximately 1.5 million program entrants.
Renu is the daughter of Ramesh Melarkode and Radhika Ramesh of Villa Hills; John is the son of Jeff and Beverly Meyer of Wilder; and Katherine is the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Hayes of Erlanger.
